About Tabby Kay Publishing

Helping you become your best self, one page at a time.

Hello there! I'm Tammi Schneider, the founder of Tabby Kay Publishing. If you've ever felt like your brain is a beautiful mess of logical systems and wild, creative dreams, then you and I have a lot in common.

Tabby Kay Publishing wasn't born in a corporate boardroom or a fancy high-rise. It was born at a kitchen table, fueled by a desire to help people navigate the "messy middle" of life — whether that's managing a budget, understanding a diagnosis, or simply finding the courage to be your best self.

Our mission is simple: helping you become your best self, one page at a time. But to understand where we're going, I want to share a bit about how we got here.

From medical coding to creative courage

For years, structure, rules, and very specific sets of numbers defined my professional world. As a certified medical coder, my job was to take complex medical information and translate it into a universal language of codes. It required a high level of focus, a love for puzzles, and a brain that naturally looks for patterns.

While that work made perfect sense to me, something was missing. The logical side of my brain was working overtime, but my creative side — the part that loves to imagine, build, and connect — was shriveling up on the sidelines. I found myself looking for a way to bridge that gap. I wanted to take the organized, instructional clarity I used in coding and apply it to something that could actually change a person's daily life for the better.

That's how Tabby Kay Publishing started. It's my way of taking "the logic" and turning it into "the light."

The spark: a word, a friend, and a story

People often ask where the "creative itch" came from if I spent so long in a technical field. Looking back, it started with something simple. A friend was sending me a vocabulary word and definition each day, and it brought back that old grade school rule about using the word in a sentence.

At first, I did exactly that: one sentence. But before long, that sentence turned into a few. Then those few lines turned into small stories. It didn't matter if the word was "resilience," "serendipity," or something a little more labyrinthine. I loved watching one little word grow into something with personality and heart.

Those daily story games were my playground. They taught me that everything — even the most practical advice — is better when it's told through a human lens. At Tabby Kay, we carry that spirit into every book we publish. Whether we're talking about living trusts or neurodiversity, we want the information to feel like a conversation, not a textbook.

A personal connection: navigating the neurodivergent path

One of the biggest driving forces behind our books — especially our series on ADHD — is deeply personal. As a parent of a neurodivergent child, I spent years researching, advocating, and learning how to support a brain that works differently.

But a funny thing happened along the way. The more I learned about my child's ADHD, the more I started seeing the same characteristics in myself. The hyper-focus, the "all-or-nothing" energy, the creative bursts followed by the need for deep structure — it all started clicking.

I realized that so many of the tools I was creating for my family were things that other people needed, too. This led to books like ADHD Women with Big Dreams and the ADHD Men Field Guide. These aren't just books I decided to publish — they are books I lived. When we talk about self-improvement, we aren't talking about "fixing" yourself; we're talking about understanding your unique brain and building a life that actually works for you.

Making change across different genres

You might notice that our library is quite diverse. We cover everything from wealth management and living trusts to ADHD guides for teens and adults, and we're continuing to expand into more genres, more life experiences, and even audiobooks.

That variety is intentional — because self-improvement isn't one-size-fits-all. People come to books with unique challenges, different goals, and different seasons of life. Our job is to meet readers where they are.

Some readers need practical help with finances. Others are looking for support, clarity, and encouragement as they navigate ADHD or neurodiversity. And as we grow, we're also opening doors for other authors who want a place to create something meaningful and make a real impact. No matter the format or genre, the goal is the same — to create books that make a real difference in people's lives and help them move forward with confidence.

Our big goal (is really about you)

If you ask me what my "big goal" is, I don't think I have a standard corporate answer for you. I'm not trying to build a publishing empire. My goal is to keep learning, keep creating, and keep filling my own creative bucket along the way.

As my creativity comes more fully back to life, I'm also returning to my early work in fiction and plan to publish more fiction in the future. Not because I'm trying to compete with the big-name authors on the shelf, but because storytelling has always been part of me — and it's one of the ways I come back to myself.

I want Tabby Kay Publishing to be a resource for the person who feels a little stuck. Maybe you're overwhelmed by your finances, or maybe you're a parent who just received a diagnosis for your child and you're feeling lost. We want to provide the map.

Every book we release is on Amazon and Ingram Spark. Ingram Spark enables online retail availability for our books, even if not stocked in physical stores. And if online sales are strong enough, stores may take notice and choose to stock those titles wholesale on their shelves as well. We are here to help you organize the chaos of life so you can get back to the things you actually love doing.

Let's grow together

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Whether you've been a reader since day one or you just stumbled upon one of our books while looking for some guidance, I'm glad you're here.

Tabby Kay Publishing is a labor of love — a mix of logic and creativity, and a reflection of the beautiful, complicated journey of self-improvement. We can't wait to show you what we're working on next!

Stay curious, stay creative, and keep growing.
